Gettysburg 2005

This year Troop 509 tried something a little different.  We had not only summer camp, at Will Rogers, but then in August we took a patrol of boys East for our first high adventure program.  Seven boys and four adults traveled 3000 miles in ten days.  We visited Antietam, MD, Gettysburg, PA, Washington, DC and the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Needless to say it was an interesting and exciting time.  We took, in total, about 400 pictures during the trip so in the interest of brevity and space saving we have only included the article that was published in the Ponca City News here.   If you happen to be visiting and would like more details on the trip or where we stayed if your Troop is planning something similar just email the Scoutmaster at sdleon@swbell.net.
